The Braxton Planners

The Braxton Planners the Economic planning Council and are the community advocates for the area.

Our Mission "To make Braxton a better place to live, research its history, to preserve its artifacts and improve the quality of life."

What began as a bunch of Braxton residents walking as a group and wanting a place to walk together has grown into a Group of citizens working together to improve our community.

The Braxton Planners started meeting in 1996 when a group of Braxton residents wanted a place they could walk, safely and to include more of the community. So was born the Braxton Planners.

The Braxton Planners are more than an economic planning council; the Braxton Planners are the community advocates for the area. The Braxton Planners are , "an open-membership group. "

The mission of the Braxton Planners is to make Braxton a better place to live, research its history, to preserve its artifacts and improve the quality of life.

The group first started meeting in the First Methodist Church, and after accomplishing the construction of a walking track the group looked toward a dedicated town park.

For most of the group the two projects went hand in hand. Today the town park has a gazebo, park benches, very little litter due to the prominent trash containers, and some beautiful bridges spanning the creek. With the park feature completed the Braxton Planners went on to bigger and better projects, such as the Community Center.

The Braxton Community Center is just that, the center of the community - where monthly events are held. This Community Center helps keep Braxton a close-knit group.

With the mission statement of the Braxton Planners including improving the quality of life, the Braxton Planners have monthly activities or events planned - revolving around the community.
